Bio
Recruited from the Murray Bushrangers with pick 17 in the 1999 National Draft, Troy Schwarze was a versatile utility best known for his raking right-foot kick and athletic run. Capable of playing as a rebounding defender or a wingman, he showed flashes of potential during St Kilda's rise under Grant Thomas, most notably booting a crucial long-range goal to help sink the Brisbane Lions during the club's famous 2004 winning streak. However, he struggled to find consistent form and discipline at the top level, often finding himself on the fringe of selection as the team's depth improved. After managing just seven games in his final season, he was delisted at the end of 2006, concluding a seven-year stint at Moorabbin before transitioning into local football coaching.
