A smooth-moving midfielder who often rotates through the forward flanks, he is best defined by his vision and poise in congestion rather than brute physical dominance. Despite flashing his potential early with a Rising Star nomination in his debut 2022 season, Sonsie faced challenges cementing a permanent spot in the Tigers' best 22, frequently oscillating between the senior side and the VFL to develop his defensive accountability. By 2026, he had established himself as a depth midfielder at Punt Road, providing class and distribution when called upon while continuing to fight for the consistency required to become a regular fixture in the lineup.
