Stats
Bio
Recruited from Caulfield in the Federal District league, Viv Randall established himself as a diminutive but tenacious wingman for Hawthorn during the mid-1930s. Standing just 170cm, he compensated for his lack of size with creativity and a flair for the spectacular that endeared him to the faithful at Glenferrie Oval. Despite the Hawks' on-field struggles during this era, Randall was a constant standout, finishing as the club’s leading Brownlow Medal vote-getter in consecutive seasons and earning selection to represent Victoria against the VFA and South Australia. He departed the VFL to join Camberwell in the VFA following the 1938 season, but his connection to the club endured as the patriarch of a notable footballing dynasty, with his son Trevor and great-granddaughter Pepa both eventually donning the brown and gold.
