Bio
Recruited by the Brisbane Lions with pick 6 in the 2024 Mid-Season Draft, Will McLachlan earned his spot on an AFL list following impressive form with the Geelong Falcons in the Talent League. The nephew of former AFL CEO Gillon McLachlan, he arrived at the Gabba as a crafty small forward known for his goal sense and defensive pressure inside 50. He broke into the senior side almost immediately, making his debut against Port Adelaide in Round 15 and retaining his place for a six-game stretch as the Lions surged toward finals. Although squeezed out of the side during Brisbane's premiership campaign later that year, McLachlan showed enough poise and energy in his limited opportunities to suggest he will be a key piece of the club's forward rotation in the future.
