Bio
Recruited to Geelong with pick 61 in the 1996 National Draft, Adam Houlihan was the second eldest of the four Houlihan brothers to feature on AFL lists, making his name as a talented half-forward with clean hands and natural goal sense. He established himself as a regular at Kardinia Park, averaging better than a goal a game during his stay, but his tenure with the Cats was complicated by form fluctuations and questions regarding his discipline that ultimately led to his delisting at the end of 2001. Thrown a lifeline by Richmond in that year's draft, Houlihan managed another 33 games over three seasons at Punt Road; however, despite fleeting moments of quality, he was unable to cement a long-term role in the Tigers' lineup and was delisted following the 2004 season with a career tally famously stranded on 99 goals.
