Bio
Recruited from the Murray Bushrangers, Damian Houlihan was the first of four brothers to play AFL football, joining Collingwood as a first-round selection in the 1992 National Draft. A skilled utility capable of playing forward or through the midfield, he managed limited senior appearances across two seasons at Victoria Park before being delisted. Houlihan reignited his career in Tasmania, where his dominant form for North Hobart—capped by winning the 1997 William Leitch Medal—prompted North Melbourne to offer him a lifeline via the 1997 draft. Despite earning a second chance at the elite level, he found it difficult to cement a spot in the Kangaroos' formidable premiership-era lineup, playing just five games in 1998 before his time in the AFL concluded.
