Bio
Recruited from the Geelong Falcons with pick 40 in the 2009 National Draft, Allen Christensen began his career locally with the Cats, quickly earning a reputation as a silky small forward and midfielder with innate goal sense. He tasted ultimate success early, playing as the substitute in Geelong's 2011 premiership side during his debut season and becoming a regular fixture in a dominant team. However, his tenure at Kardinia Park ended abruptly after the 2014 season when he requested a trade to the Brisbane Lions, seeking a fresh environment to manage personal challenges away from the scrutiny of his hometown.
Arriving at Brisbane during a rebuilding phase, Christensen provided valuable experience and class when fit, though his time in Queensland was frequently hampered by injuries, particularly recurrent collarbone and shoulder issues. While he struggled to consistently recapture his peak output due to these physical setbacks, he evolved into a significant leadership figure for the club's Indigenous cohort and a steady hand in the forward half. He eventually retired at the end of the 2020 season, finishing his career as a premiership player who notched over 100 games across two clubs.
