Bio
Born into a dedicated footballing family as the nephew of Bob King, Arthur Hart was the trailblazer for the Hart dynasty at Fitzroy, arriving at the club before his younger brothers Don and future leading goalkicker Eddie. A local recruit from Raymonds, he made his debut in the back pocket but proved to be a versatile and effective option forward of centre, booting 37 goals in his 38 senior games. His VFL career was abruptly ended by the Second World War, during which he served as a Sergeant in New Guinea, leaving the game just as the next generation of his family began to make their mark at the Brunswick Street Oval.
