Bio
Recruited from Sandhurst with the third overall pick in the 1988 National Draft, Ben Sexton arrived at the Western Bulldogs with significant expectations as the son of former Saint and Bulldog Damian Sexton. A versatile utility with the capacity to impact the scoreboard, his time at the Whitten Oval was marred by a series of injuries that restricted him to just 39 games over five seasons. Seeking to revitalize his career, he crossed to Carlton for the 1996 season, linking up with his cousin Michael Sexton at Princes Park. However, the change of scenery failed to yield a change in fortune, as he managed just four senior appearances for the Blues before departing the AFL scene, remembered largely as a high-potential talent whose durability could not match his ability.
