Bio
Hailing from the Ovens & Murray powerhouse of Yarrawonga, Damian Sexton is a respected figure in regional football who made a brief cameo at the elite level as a mature-age recruit. The son of former Footscray player Gerry Sexton—with whom he holds the league record for the longest gap between a father and son's playing careers—he was drafted by St Kilda with pick 23 in the 1990 Mid-Year Draft. Sexton managed four senior games for the Saints, famously balancing his brief VFL/AFL stint with his responsibilities as a Finley farmer, before ultimately returning to the bush to prioritize life on the land. He subsequently established a significant legacy in country Victoria, enjoying success as a premiership coach with Blighty and serving as a long-term mentor for the Murray Football League and Vic Country representative teams.
