Bill Huntington

Recruited from local feeder club Coburg Juniors, Bill Huntington was a tall and rangy utility who made a fleeting appearance at Princes Park in the early 1950s. Standing 184cm, he possessed the requisite height for a key position or following role, though his slender frame likely limited his capacity to dominate in heavy contests against the era's sturdier ruckmen and defenders. He was granted his debut by coach Perc Bentley late in the 1950 season, playing two matches before adding a final senior game early the following year. Unable to secure a regular spot in the starting eighteen, Huntington's VFL tenure remained brief, leaving him as a footnote in Carlton's history as a locally sourced depth player who stepped up when called upon.
