Bio
Recruited from Nyah West, Bill Rose was a member of the famous Rose dynasty, becoming one of four brothers to represent Collingwood alongside his legendary sibling Bob. A versatile utility capable of filling key roles as a follower or in defence, he became a reliable contributor during a successful era for the Magpies. After lining up in the back pocket during the losing 1952 Grand Final, Rose cemented his place in club history the following year as a member of the 1953 premiership side. Playing as a follower in the flag triumph, he performed a disciplined role curbing Geelong star Bill McMaster, helping the Magpies deny the Cats a third consecutive title. While his senior career was relatively brief, his adaptability in high-stakes matches ensured his enduring status as a premiership player.
