Bio
Recruited from the Bendigo Pioneers with pick 70 in the 2016 National Draft, Fergus Greene initially struggled to establish himself at the Western Bulldogs, managing just five appearances across four injury-interrupted seasons before being delisted in 2020. Rather than fading from the system, the crafty medium forward revitalised his career in the VFL with Box Hill, winning the 2022 Frosty Miller Medal as the league's leading goalkicker to earn a lifeline with Hawthorn as a delisted free agent. Greene operated as a classic lead-up forward known for his sticky hands and exceptional set-shot accuracy, often proving efficient despite gathering low possession numbers. Although he contributed a respectable 15 goals in 11 games during his sole season at Waverley Park, he was delisted at the conclusion of 2023 as the Hawks opted to prioritise the development of younger key position prospects.
