Bio
A product of the Geelong region who took the scenic route to the AFL, Flynn Young cut his teeth in the GFNL with Newtown & Chilwell and Grovedale before starring for Werribee in the VFL. After playing a pivotal role in Werribee's 2024 VFL premiership triumph—including a memorable long-range goal in the Grand Final—he was handed an AFL lifeline by the Blues with pick 4 in the 2025 Mid-Season Rookie Draft. A dynamic medium forward with a classy left boot, Young is known for his aerial capacity despite standing just 181cm, often flying for marks against taller opponents while using his strong aerobic tank to work up the ground. Having broken into the senior side to debut against Port Adelaide late in 2025, he enters his first full pre-season as a developing option in Carlton's front half, looking to cement a permanent spot as a goal-kicking connector between midfield and attack.
