Stats
Bio
Recruited from Brighton Juniors, Fred Robinson was a durable utility who joined his brothers Alex and Bill in representing Essendon during the early 1900s. While often listed as a follower, his scoreless record across 35 games suggests he primarily operated as a disciplined defensive presence or a checking ruckman who focused on stopping the opposition rather than attacking. He was a fixture of the "Same Olds" lineup, missing just two matches across two seasons before his League career was cut short by a business transfer to Western Australia in 1906. Robinson flourished in the Goldfields league with Boulder City, eventually earning selection to represent Western Australia at the inaugural 1908 National Carnival, before returning to Victoria to finish his career with Brighton in the VFA.
