Bio
A product of the Giants Academy via North Broken Hill, Isaac Cumming was secured by GWS with pick 20 in the 2016 National Draft after the club matched a bid from North Melbourne. His entry into senior football required significant patience, as he managed just ten games across his first four seasons while stuck behind established stars in the Giants' defensive pecking order. He eventually enjoyed a breakout campaign in 2021, establishing himself as a rebounding defender with elite kicking skills and composure under pressure. His standing at the club peaked in 2022 when he finished third in the Kevin Sheedy Medal, having transformed from a fringe player into one of the side's most effective distributors from the back half.
Following an injury-interrupted 2024 season, Cumming exercised his free agency rights to join Adelaide, signing a long-term deal to play closer to his origins. Renowned for his ability to break lines with a penetrating right boot and his capacity to read the play as an interceptor, he was recruited by the Crows to provide class and transition run. While primarily a defender during his time in Sydney's west, his move to West Lakes comes with the expectation of versatility, with the experienced utility likely to push up onto a wing or into the midfield to support the Crows' developing core.
