Bio
Hailing from Horsham in country Victoria, Jake Lloyd established himself as one of the AFL’s premier ball-magnets after being plucked from the North Ballarat Rebels in the 2013 Rookie Draft. Initially overlooked in the national draft, he was elevated to the senior list in 2014 and wasted no time cementing his spot, playing in a Grand Final in his debut season. Over the next decade, he became the model of durability and consistency for the Swans, famously becoming the quickest player in club history to reach the 100, 150, and 200-game milestones.
A quintessential rebounding defender, Lloyd built his reputation on elite endurance, safe disposal, and an uncanny ability to read the play behind the ball. He functioned as the Swans' "quarterback" for much of his prime, racking up massive disposal numbers and linking defence to attack with precision. His importance to the side was underlined by two Bob Skilton Medals as the club's Best and Fairest (2018, 2020) and an All-Australian squad selection. By 2026, having transitioned into a veteran mentor role, Lloyd was delisted and re-rookied to extend his career, fighting to hold his place in the side while guiding the next generation of Swans defenders.
