Bio
The son of Port Adelaide SANFL premiership captain Darryl Borlase, James Borlase curiously found his way to West Lakes via Adelaide's Next Generation Academy, joining the club as a Category B rookie following the 2020 draft. A key defender capable of reading the flight of the ball for intercept marks or playing a lockdown role, he served a lengthy apprenticeship in the reserves before earning his AFL debut late in the 2023 season. While he has often been utilized as a structural replacement during injury layoffs to the Crows' first-choice tall backs, Borlase established himself as a competitive depth option who provides reliable aerial support whenever called upon at the top level.
