Bio
Selected by Hawthorn with pick 33 in the 2006 National Draft, Jarryd Morton is the middle sibling of the well-known Morton footballing trio, sandwiched between older brother Mitch and younger brother Cale. A versatile utility capable of running through the midfield or playing as a lead-up half-forward, Morton possessed strong endurance and overhead marking ability relative to his size. He managed to break into the senior side during Hawthorn's premiership year of 2008, playing eight games including the Qualifying Final, but ultimately could not force his way into the settled Grand Final lineup. Despite showing flashes of potential, he struggled to cement a regular spot amidst a star-studded Hawks list and battled persistent injury issues, eventually being delisted at the conclusion of the 2011 season.
