Bio
Recruited from Casterton in Victoria’s Western District, John Younger arrived at the Western Oval in 1964 to join a Footscray side commanded by the legendary Ted Whitten. A versatile utility capable of operating along the flanks or pushing forward when required, Younger battled to cement a permanent position in the senior lineup throughout his three-year tenure. He served largely as a depth player for the Bulldogs, managing to string together 17 games and four goals while frequently rotating through the reserves. Unable to secure a long-term role in the starting eighteen, his VFL career concluded at the end of the 1966 season.
