Bio
Recruited from Bentleigh, Ken Osborne was a homegrown product who progressed through the Melbourne scholarship and Under-19s system in the mid-1960s. He earned his senior debut late in the 1966 season, a tumultuous period for the club during which coach Norm Smith used a record-breaking number of players in an attempt to revitalise an ageing list. A capable forward option who showed he could hit the scoreboard—booting five goals in five games during his final active year—Osborne battled to cement a permanent spot in the starting 18 during the Demons' slide down the ladder. Although he remained on the senior list for the 1969 season without adding to his game tally, he eventually departed the VFL to continue his career in the VFA with Waverley.
