Bio
Recruited by Port Adelaide with pick 42 in the 1998 National Draft, Michael Stevens entered the league as the younger brother of North Melbourne champion Anthony Stevens. He struggled to break into a dominant Power midfield during their rise as a premiership contender, managing sporadic appearances before being traded to the Kangaroos ahead of the 2003 season to fulfill a desire to play alongside his sibling. A hard-running midfielder who could rotate through half-forward, Stevens played his best football at Arden Street, offering consistent work rate and link-up play. He featured regularly for three seasons but was delisted at the end of 2005, finishing his career as a solid contributor who successfully bridged the gap between the SANFL and AFL level for a brief period.
