Bio
Recruited from the Wangaratta Rovers, Mike Hallahan represented the third generation of his family to play at the highest level, following in the footsteps of his grandfather Jim Snr (St Kilda) and father Jim Jr (Fitzroy and Footscray). He made his senior debut for the Lions in 1967, managing three games in his solitary VFL season before departing the club. While his time at the elite level was brief, Hallahan went on to build a formidable reputation as a star player in the Ballarat Football League. He later extended the family dynasty to a rare fourth generation as the father of hard-nosed midfielder Mitch Hallahan, who played for Hawthorn and Gold Coast between 2011 and 2017.
