Bio
Recruited from Caulfield Juniors, Norm Rippon began his league career at Melbourne, where he followed in the footsteps of his brothers Les and Harold. After managing just a single senior appearance for the Fuchsias in 1898, the centreman crossed to South Melbourne to find greater consistency at the top level. He became a reliable contributor for the Southerners, adding 36 games to his tally in the red and white between 1901 and 1904. While his on-field tenure was relatively brief, Rippon holds a unique place in history for his remarkable longevity, passing away just two months shy of his 100th birthday in 1977.
