Bio
Selected by the Western Bulldogs with the ninth pick in the 1999 National Draft, Patrick Bowden arrived with high expectations as the son of Richmond premiership player Michael and brother to Tigers Sean and Joel. A mobile tall forward who could also pinch-hit in the ruck, he was known for his strong overhead marking and smooth skills for a big man, most notably booting six goals against West Coast in 2003 to showcase his offensive potential. However, he struggled to maintain consistent intensity and hold a regular place in the Bulldogs' best 22, leading to a trade to Richmond following the 2005 season to join brother Joel. Although the move allowed the Bowden brothers to play together at the highest level, Patrick was unable to recapture his best form at Punt Road, playing primarily as a depth key position player until his delisting at the conclusion of the 2007 season.
