Bio
The eldest son of 1969 premiership hero Michael Bowden, Sean Bowden was the first of the clan's second generation to don the yellow and black. Recruited from Mildura Imperials, he broke into the senior side for the opening round of the 1990 season, playing primarily as a defender who could rotate through the midfield. Despite proving himself a prolific ball-winner in the seconds—capped by a reserves Best and Fairest award in 1991—he was unable to cement a regular spot in the senior lineup during a lean period for the club. Delisted after just six games, he crossed to the VFA to play with Port Melbourne before forging a successful legal career in the Northern Territory, eventually watching younger brothers Joel and Patrick carry on the family dynasty at Tigerland.
