Bio
Recruited from the Northern Territory, Shane Morrison began his career on the Brisbane Lions' rookie list during the club's dominant premiership era. A strongly built key position prospect capable of playing at either end of the ground, he faced the unenviable task of trying to break into a forward line boasting Alastair Lynch, Jonathan Brown, and Daniel Bradshaw. His time in Queensland was defined by a moment of professional heartbreak in 2002, where he performed admirably in the Preliminary Final victory over Port Adelaide only to be omitted for the Grand Final to make way for a returning Lynch. Seeking greater senior opportunities, Morrison was traded to Richmond prior to the 2004 season, but he struggled to make an impact at Punt Road, adding just three appearances to his career tally before being delisted.
