Bio
Hailing from Broken Hill, Taylor 'Tex' Walker arrived at Adelaide via the NSW Scholarship program, a pathway that allowed the Crows to secure his signature prior to the national draft. Although his early years required a significant adjustment to professional fitness standards, Walker established himself as the club's premier key forward. Renowned for his booming right boot and elite field kicking, he operates as a physical presence who is just as effective setting up teammates with precision passes as he is converting set shots from well outside the fifty-metre arc.
Walker's tenure as captain from 2015 to 2019 was defined by his leadership during the tragic passing of coach Phil Walsh and the club's run to the 2017 Grand Final. His career faced a critical juncture in 2021 when he served a six-match suspension for making a racist remark at a SANFL game, an incident that stripped him of his leadership standing and clouded his future in the sport. However, Walker returned to the side and produced a significant late-career resurgence, earning his first All-Australian blazer in 2023 at the age of 33. Now the club's all-time leading goalkicker and a 300-game player, he remains the focal point of the attack and a veteran mentor for Adelaide's developing forward line.
