Bio
Recruited from local VFA powerhouse Geelong West after playing in their 1975 premiership side as a teenager, Terry Bright arrived at Kardinia Park with a reputation as a natural footballer. The nephew of club legend Bill Goggin, Bright quickly carved out his own identity as a versatile and intelligent utility. While he was capable of playing off a half-back flank or through the midfield, he did his best work in the forward half, where his goal sense and overhead marking for his size made him a constant threat.
Bright became a linchpin of the Cats' setup throughout the late 1970s and 1980s, topping the club's goalkicking on three separate occasions (1980, 1981, and 1983). He was a picture of consistency during an era where Geelong frequently played finals football without securing a flag, racking up over 200 games and more than 300 goals. His reliability and service to the club were eventually recognised with his induction into the Geelong Football Club Hall of Fame.
