Bio
Recruited from Central District with the 11th pick in the 2015 National Draft, Wayne Milera arrived at West Lakes with the pedigree of South Australian football royalty. A smooth-moving operator with elite lateral agility and disposal efficiency, he initially teased his potential as a creative small forward before finding his true niche as a rebounding defender. When at his best, Milera was the Crows' designated architect out of the back half, utilising his poise to weave through traffic and break opposition lines with precision kicking that set up counter-attacks.
Unfortunately, Milera's career was defined as much by his stoic resilience as his on-field class, with his prime years decimated by a series of cruel long-term injuries. He missed the entire 2021 season due to a ruptured patella tendon and, after fighting his way back to consistency, suffered the same devastating injury to his other knee early in 2024. despite these career-threatening setbacks, Milera repeatedly endured gruelling rehabilitation programs to return to the senior side. By 2026, he had evolved into a respected veteran presence, providing much-needed composure and leadership to the Adelaide defence while managing his body to extend his time at the elite level.
