Bio
Recruited out of Sydney as one of Hawthorn's inaugural NSW scholarship holders, Will Sierakowski carried a famous football surname—he is the nephew of St Kilda premiership player Brian and cousin of David—but was forced to bide his time on the Hawks' rookie list. Unable to crack a premiership-calibre defence at Waverley, he was identified by North Melbourne as a value recruit and traded for pick 58 in 2011 in search of senior opportunities. A rangy left-footed utility capable of playing off a half-back flank or wing, Sierakowski was valued for his precise kicking and ability to provide outside run. He finally broke through for his debut in Round 6, 2013 against Port Adelaide, playing seven games that season as a rebounding defender, but despite his tidy disposal, he could not secure a long-term position in the side and was delisted at the end of the year.
