Bio
Recruited from the Western Jets with pick 36 in the 2005 National Draft, Jake Edwards arrived at Carlton as a promising key forward prospect. The son of former VFL journeyman Allan Edwards, Jake was tasked with developing into a marking target to support the Blues' attack, though he found senior opportunities limited due to the dominance of Brendan Fevola. He spent the majority of his tenure developing with the Northern Bullants, eventually breaking through for a debut in 2008. Despite his strong overhead ability and accuracy in front of goal, Edwards struggled to command a permanent spot in the starting 22 and was delisted at the conclusion of the 2009 season, later establishing a significant post-playing legacy as a mental health advocate for athletes.
