Bio
The eldest of the three Cloke brothers to don the black and white, Jason Cloke arrived at Collingwood as a father-son selection in the 2000 National Draft, carrying the famous surname of his father, David. A distinctively styled defender known for his ability to read the play and take intercept marks as a loose man across half-back, he made an immediate impact in his debut 2002 season, playing almost every game until a striking charge in the Preliminary Final famously ruled him out of the Grand Final. He returned to feature in the Magpies' heavy 2003 premiership decider loss to Brisbane but struggled to maintain a permanent spot in the senior side over subsequent years as opposition coaches began to exploit his lack of accountability and speed. After falling out of favour under Mick Malthouse, Cloke was delisted at the end of the 2006 season, concluding his AFL career as a one-club player before continuing in the VFL.
