Teams

Recruited from Swan Districts via the 2009 Rookie Draft, Jeff Garlett quickly established himself as a key component of Carlton's celebrated "Mosquito Fleet" alongside Eddie Betts and Chris Yarran. A livewire small forward possessed of searing pace and innate goal sense, Garlett was just as dangerous without the ball, renowned for his elite closing speed and harassment of defenders inside 50. Despite consistent output at Princes Park, off-field disciplinary issues saw him fall out of favour with the Blues' coaching staff, leading to a trade to Melbourne at the end of the 2014 season.

Garlett revitalised his career under Paul Roos at the Demons, instantly becoming the club's most potent scoring threat and topping the goalkicking list in both 2015 and 2017. He played with renewed consistency during this period, using his acceleration to punish opposition defenders on the counter-attack while maintaining his trademark tackling intensity. However, a combination of soft-tissue injuries and a shoulder reconstruction limited his output in his final two seasons, resulting in his delisting at the conclusion of 2019. He finished his career with over 300 goals, distinguishing himself as one of the most productive small forwards of his era.
