A surprise selection in the 2023 National Draft, Oliver Wiltshire was plucked from local football obscurity to join the club he supported as a child. After being overlooked following his stint with the Geelong Falcons, the small forward returned to Barwon Heads in the Bellarine Football League, where a dominant 51-goal season—highlighted by a 12-goal haul against Modewarre—caught the attention of Geelong recruiters and club legend Matthew Scarlett. Known as a livewire in attack with sharp goal sense and high agility, Wiltshire endured a frustrated start to his AFL career with a pelvic injury wiping out much of his first season. He eventually broke through for a brief taste of senior action, remaining a depth forward fighting for opportunities behind established stars in the Cats' lineup.
