Bio
Selected by Geelong with pick 57 in the 2017 National Draft, Gryan Miers arrived at Kardinia Park with a reputation for big-game performance after booting seven goals in the Geelong Falcons' TAC Cup Grand Final victory. Initially recognisable for his dreadlocks and highly unconventional kicking action, Miers quickly cemented his spot in the senior side, debuting in the opening round of 2019 and displaying remarkable durability early in his career. While his kicking mechanics often drew external scrutiny, his elite endurance, high football IQ, and ability to find space allowed him to evolve from a pocket goal-sneak into a prolific high half-forward.
Miers established himself as one of the league's premier creative connectors, highlighted by a standout 2023 campaign where he set a new AFL record for goal assists in a single season. A premiership player in 2022, he played a crucial role in Geelong's flag run through his relentless running patterns and precise delivery inside 50. Now a seasoned contributor with over 150 games to his name, Miers remains a vital component of the Cats' offensive structure, valued for his unselfish play and ability to link the midfield to the forward line.
