Bio
Jake Kolodjashnij arrived at Geelong via pick 41 in the 2013 National Draft, entering the league alongside his twin brother Kade, who was selected by Gold Coast. Quickly establishing himself as a reliable pillar in the Cats' defence, he developed a reputation as a versatile stopper capable of manning opponents ranging from agile small forwards to key position targets. While rarely a high-possession winner, his defensive discipline and ability to execute specific lockdown roles made him an automatic selection in Chris Scott's backline for over a decade.
For much of his career, Kolodjashnij held the unusual distinction of playing the most VFL/AFL games without kicking a goal, a drought that famously broke in his 127th match against Greater Western Sydney in 2021. He cemented his standing at the club by playing a crucial role in the 2022 premiership victory, providing stability during a dominant era for the team. Entering the 2026 season on the cusp of his 200th game, he remains a valued veteran at Kardinia Park, recognised for his selflessness and extensive finals experience.
