Bio
Recruited as a 17-year-old access selection from the North Ballarat Rebels, Jeremy Cameron was a foundation player for Greater Western Sydney and quickly became the face of the expansion club. Hailing from the small town of Dartmoor, he established himself immediately as the Giants' primary target, leading the club's goalkicking in their inaugural season and eventually winning the 2019 Coleman Medal. After a decade in Sydney that included a Grand Final appearance, Cameron requested a move to Geelong at the end of 2020. The transaction became one of the most high-profile trades in AFL history; after GWS matched Geelong's restricted free agency bid, the Cats were forced to part with three first-round draft picks to secure the forward.
Upon arriving at Kardinia Park, Cameron formed a lethal partnership with Tom Hawkins, adding a dynamic layer to the Cats' attack that proved pivotal in their 2022 premiership dominance. Unlike a traditional stay-at-home full forward, Cameron is renowned for his elite tank and field kicking, often pushing high up the ground to win possession on the wing before burning opponents on the way back to goal. His ability to combine the accumulation of a midfielder with the finishing skills of a spearhead has made him a perennial All-Australian contender. Now a senior figure at Geelong, he remains one of the competition's most difficult matchups and a key leader in the club's post-premiership era.
