Bio
The middle sibling of the legendary Drouin football dynasty, Kevin Ablett was a pacey and skillful utility who possessed the family’s trademark natural talent but struggled to find consistency at the elite level. Recruited to Hawthorn where he joined older brother Geoff, he debuted in 1977 and displayed early promise as a dashing half-forward and wingman, notably playing in the club's Night Series premiership side. After departing Glenferrie Oval and spending time in country football, he returned to the VFL in 1984 for a stint at Richmond—again playing alongside Geoff—before completing a unique family hat-trick by joining younger brother Gary at Geelong in 1985. While his journeyman career finished with 38 games across three clubs, his contribution to the game extended to the next generation through his son, Sydney premiership player Luke Ablett.
