Bio
Hailing from Halls Creek in the Kimberley, Shane McAdam entered the AFL system as a mature-age recruit after a breakout season with Sturt in the SANFL. He joined Adelaide during the 2018 trade period as a key component of the deal that sent Mitch McGovern to Carlton, quickly establishing himself as a dynamic medium forward known for his spectacular vertical leap and reliable set shot routine. McAdam became a regular contributor for the Crows, offering a dangerous mix of aerial prowess and ground-level pressure, though his continuity was occasionally hampered by soft-tissue injuries and suspension. Seeking a fresh start, he requested a trade to Melbourne at the conclusion of the 2023 season, eventually crossing to the Demons in exchange for a future second-round pick. Now wearing red and blue, McAdam is tasked with adding X-factor and marking power to Melbourne's forward line as he looks to consolidate his place in the senior side.
