About 41,000 people watched two Adelaide factory teams play a women's match at Adelaide Oval in 1929, with the ball dropped from an aeroplane to start the game.

The crowd stood as the biggest for a women's sporting event in Australia for 89 years, until the Fremantle and Collingwood AFLW match in 2018.
